Homemade Cards

There’s something special about getting a card.  Whether it’s hand delivered or dropped in the mail.  As long as I can remember, it has always been so exciting to open up a card picked especially for you.

These days we get caught up in texting people for their birthday or anniversary.  I’m guilty of it too.  The fact that someone took their time to choose a card specifically for you, for your special occasion, hand write the note and drop it in the mail, or give it to you in person, is so special.

For the past year or so, I’ve been making cards for my friends and family.  Not that there’s anything wrong with purchasing that birthday card or anniversary card, but you know how sometimes you just cannot find the perfect card?  I think it’s more fun and more personal this way.

My brother and mom have the exact same birthday.  Pretty cool huh?!  Their birthday was August 1st so I decided to make them each a card.  I have a craft box filled to the brim with paper and string and pens.  I just used what I had, checked out Pinterest and came up with the below. 🙂

My sister got me this adorable stamp.  I use it on all of my cards. :)DSCN5385

Here’s the card for my bro.  Music is a big part of his life and the guitar is his instrument so I only thought this was fitting.  I used gold thread for the strings.  Boom!DSCN5392DSCN5397

Now I have to go make one for my sister Rachel.  Her birthday is today!  I’m a little behind… Sorry sister!

Have fun crafting!  xo, Jenneke Rose.
