We went camping the other month with three other families at The Holidays in San Clemente.
OK, so I don’t know if I’d consider this camping… more like glamping, but whatever you want to call it, I highly recommend!
The Holidays is a group of vintage trailers that you can rent for camping. Located in the San Clemente State Beach Campground – you can’t go wrong. They have 4 trailers to choose from and you can pitch a tent at each campground or you can have them bring in another trailer if necessary. You can have 8 folks total at each spot.
We all have 2 kids ranging in age from baby to 4 years and this was the perfect spot.
We were able to rent 3 of the 4 trailers and then had them bring in one more for our 4th family. Cute, huh?
This spot is perfect for families. We tent camped when our now 3 year old was 18 months and while it was so much fun, tent camping was more stressful than trailer camping. It was so nice having a spot for our 7 month old to nap in without having to worry about the heat of the sun.
We rented the Wrangler and out of the group, we definitely had the most spacious trailer. Our trailer fit our pack-n-play perfectly and had a good sized bed for us parents as well as a table that turned down into a bed for our toddler.
The Wrangler had a QR Code to scan which provided us with an “Intro to the Wrangler”. I highly recommend watching this when you arrive as it will help you figure out the blue tooth, water, heater, etc. We had to contact the host at one point and he was super quick to respond which was great.
The Holidays also provide a ton of games to play as well as a communal fire pit (which we took full advantage of).
The trailers are equipped with a gas range stove, kitchen sink with potable (drinkable) water, utensils, cups and plates, pots and pans; really most everything you need to cook. We still brought our Coleman stove and cooked on that outside on the picnic table. We like to be outdoors and part of the action! 🙂
Each spot also has its own pergola with picnic table and personal fire pit as well.
The camp spot is super close to the beach – just a few minutes walk. We were blessed with amazing weather that weekend and spent most of the time at the beach. The kids had a blast!
The dads came up with a fun treasure hunt for the kids as well. It was hit! Who doesn’t love finding treasure?!
While the stay wasn’t perfect (our baby wasn’t sleeping through the night then…and still isn’t!) we had a blast being with our friends and camping together – we do life with these folks and it’s so much fun when you can do something different. 🙂 I plan on going back there to camp and I hope you do too!
