Bar Cart – Craigslist Drab to Craigslist Fab!

Hello peeps!  Happy Friday! 🙂  I hope you’ve all had a wonderful week and are looking forward to the weekend.  I know I am.  This week was crazy busy! … What’s a better way to end a Friday than with an apéritif?  Doesn’t “apéritif” sound so luxurious??  So Parisian??… But what’s even better than an adult beverage is serving one from your super cute Craigslist bar cart!

Like I’ve mentioned before, I’m all about a good find.  I was searching all over the place for a bar cart and was having zero luck.  Or I would find a super adorable one, from Crate and Barrel or Home Goods, and it would cost well over $200?!  Um, no thank you!  So I scoured CL and found the below bar cart.  Isn’t it a beauty?  And I think it cost me around $30!! Yes!!IMG_1966

Once I brought the bar cart home, I sanded down the gold color, but I think this was just unnecessary and time-consuming :(.  I scraped off the faux wood laminate, spray painted it matte gold and added contact paper from the dollar store to the top shelf!  All in cost me around $45!!  I mean, it doesn’t get any better than that right?DSC_0485DSC_0498

It’s become a focal point in our living room and I love it.  I’ll decorate it for the holidays, birthdays or just because.  Notice our finger print tree which I mentioned in the post about our wedding?  We found the frame at our local flea market and I LOVE it.DSC_0526cropped-dsc_0485.jpg

Here are a couple close-ups of the dollar store contact paper.  Isn’t it cute?DSC_0490DSC_0491

I hope this post inspires you to turn a Craigslist drab into a Craigslist fab!  Keep me posted on your findings as I would love to hear about them.  Now I’m gonna go mix myself up an apéritif! 😉 xo, Jenneke Rose.

  1. Wow, love this so much! I love being able to make someone’s trash into a treasure that everyone talks about! Great idea with the top as well.
